I am not sure. I think they are the same. I think it is the 13mm toothpick in the rear.

The Rear bar we pulled off my '98 L looked like a #2 pencil that was painted black. I had a 17 and a 20mm swaybar that I picked up (WRX / STi?) - maybe the RS had a 15 or a 17 or somethin' around there.

picking up a 20mm rear swaybar from an 02-03 wrx is a great cheap mod that is very noticeable.

i took the stock 13mm rear sway bar of my 99RS and put an 02/03 WRX rear sway bar on (which is 19mm) and it did make a noticeable difference. there is less motion from the rear, and the steering seemed to tighten up just slightly.

was it worth it? yes.
is it so noticeable that you'll suddenly think that you're a WRC champ? no.
