Review: Kyb agx and eibach springs

Well guys I finally did the upgrade. Here is my review.

What: KYB 4 way adjustable struts and Eibach Pro Kit

Car: 2002 Subaru WRX

Previous Application: H and R Springs on Stock Struts.

Previous Application Ride:
The ride on hr springs with stock struts was OK. I mean it was lower which was cool, but there was no dampening at all. The stock struts just are not a good match for the hr springs. There was a definite improvement compared to stock. After awhile the struts just cannot handle the spring. I got tired of bouncing around corners. So i did the upgrade to kyb agx and eibachs.

New Appication Ride vs Previous Application Ride:

WOW. That is the words out of my mouth, simply WOW. And a SMILE. The dampening is definitely approriate for the Eibach springs. I have the rear shocks set to setting number 3 out of 4 and the front setting to number 1 out of 4. I do not track or autox in the meantime, so for those of you in my shoes, this is definitely comfortable and EXCELLENT handling for the street. I most probably leave the rear setting to number 3 due to the hassle of removing the rear seat each time to change the setting. All i can say is that this car handles like it handles on rails. The steering response is improved 100 percent over stock. It actually feels quite like an EVO. I test drove an evo a few months ago and response seems quite simiar but not so much. I havent tried a higher setting on the front but will do so soon.

I suggest this setup to anyone who is not going to a full coilover suspension. This is by far the best bang for buck you can do. The rex now drives like a go kart in the corners.

Place purchased: Springs for purchases from SUBY DUDE
KYB AGX were purchased from EBAY from kybwarehouse.
Price for struts were $375 plus shipping. They are located in Yakima Washington.

Well I hope this review did not bore you. Please feel free to ask questions.

If u plan on using Cusco camber plate, make sure they are 14mm x 1.5.
Also make sure use an impact gun to tight the strut bolt.

ScoobyBoy- KYB AGXs are only allow dampening/rebound adjustments, not heigt Victor. Hit me up if you're going to summer school so I can give you a ride in my car. I'm using the Prodrive/AGX setup.

vip- try setting the front to 3 as well. You'll really feel a difference especially when you're entering a corner hard.

also i found that increasing tire pressures reallly helps..

front 39.5

rear 37.0

this is by far the best street setup, a bit stiff, but hey well worth it..

Could you please post a review of your struts and springs in the i-Club Reviews Suspension section? That area is our database for all product reviews. Thanks.

With the Eibach springs, what is the ride height compared to stock?

I have SPT (Eibach) springs and they drop the front 1.4" and the rear 1.2". I am almost positive the Eibach pro kit is the same.
