rear sway bar

I'm getting an IPD rear swaybar from Rallitek tommorow that is three way adjustable to 19, 20 or 21 mm. My question is what setting should I use? I'd like to have the understeer dialed out but I dont want it to be tail happy either. Thanks for your input.

Since the bar is easily adjusted start on the lowest 19mm setting and try it out. It will make a noticeable difference. If, after some miles of use you feel the need for more just move it on up. My $.02.

thanks, sounds like a good plan. Any other opinions, I was also thinking of starting in the middle and then adjusting from there.

oh yeah, I got the bar today and plan on installing it tommorow

You'll probably be fine with a 20. Your stock is 18, so 20 isn't a HUGE jump if you're a decent driver. IIRC, you've got a ton of other suspension mods, so just be careful, especially in the wet, when testing it out, and you should be ok. You'll know right away if it's too stiff.

sybir, IIRC WL98 is starting out with a 98 L model Legacy, not an OB. So his stocker is a great deal smaller than 18mm, and as you so aptly pointed out, a big jump could catch him unprepared unless he's mighty cautious, especially in the wet or the white stuff.

Oh man, sorry. For some reason I thought he had 98 OB.

Yeah, I'm going with Glenn on this one.

nope, just a regular old 98, I think the original was a 14mm, terribly small. I got it just in time for a big snow storm so I've been taking it easy. I actually havent felt it yet as I havent cornered real fast yet, it does corner flatter though. I'm hoping to get the chance to take some fast runs and see how it rotates, its currently on the 20mm setting. Keep you all updated.
