Racing Brake Rotors

Just installed a set of Racing Brake Slotted rotors with Hawk HP+ pads and Stainless lines. Brakes work like a champ however I am getting a loud squeal when slowing and stopping at slow speeds. Anyone have any ideas how to resolve this?

Thanks in advance!!

Did you break in the brake pads?

I did bed the pads.

However I did not put antiseze on the back of the pads. SHould I apply it to just the piston side under the shim? I have a WRX with 2 pot front calipers. and sigle pot rears.

It'll say on the little packet of anti-seize (the instructions). I think I just spread a light light-med coat across the back of the entire pad. I would get more opinions as I'm no confident mechanic by any means!

I'm on my second set of these rotors (the street version of the slotted ones) with Akebono ceramic pads. With this setup my brakes have always been quiet. I think it's a characteristic of the Hawk pads.
If the pads have shims supplied you shouldn't need any lubricant in addition, the Akebonos came with shims and I installed them dry. Can't hurt to try some though since they're noisy.

HP+ is a noisy pad. Always has been...always will be. Anti squeal can help some.

I have these all around (on RB calipers front & RB H6 conversion back) and can attest that they're indeed noisy. But they've got incredible stopping power and fade very very little on the track- they're even quiet out there. On the street they're sometimes less noisy than others. I've found it helps a little if you brake late for stop signs and stuff. HP+s seem to make the most noise under light braking.
