Perrin P.S.R.S. Opinions?

Does anyone have experience with this bolt-on kit?

http://www.jscspeed.com/wrx/suspension/perrin_psrs.htm

The PERRIN™ Positive steering response system (P.S.R.S.) will increase the driavability and performance driving characteristics of your Subaru by preventing squat under hard acceleration and preventing lift under acceleration during cornering. The PERRIN Performance™ P.S.R.S. replaces and relocates rear mount of the the front transverse link (aka front control arm) providing additional caster angle for better turn in and steering response. The PERRIN™ P.S.R.S. is cut from custom extruded 6061 aluminum for a stronger more precise part. Using Teflon™ lined, spherical bearings eliminates any possibility of deflection caused by the factory installed mounts. The PERRIN™ P.S.R.S. will control wandering when driving on uneven pavement or when using plus sized wheels and tires.
This seems like a very inexpensive and interesting upgrade. Comments anyone? I have several Perrin products installed (short shifter, air filter, catch can) and have been very happy with them so far... How much do you think it would be to have this installed?

Here's the official specs:

Do you mean that the stiffer steering will transmit more road noise to the steering wheel? That doesn't sound so hot! Can you damp it down with thicker power steering fluid?

no he means... that because of the spherical bearings.. the joints have no "give" to them compared tot he whitelines poly eurethane bushings which u can get in comfort / sport / race

each gradually being stiffer therefore causing less flex and more noise... the perrin is going to induce a lot of ground thunk on bumps... due to the bearings having no flex

yes... noise is increased with spherical berings because they have no flex at all, they bite

vs urethane
the comfort alk is very quiet i've heard

the sport alk is noisy around bumps

the race alk is noisy all the time "similar to perrin's"

these are all assumtions for the whiteline... hope they can help

Difference between Perrin and Whiteline's ALK

I did a search on the NASIOC forum and found a post from a representative from Perrin who indicated that:

1. The Perrin ALK brings about more castor than Whiteline's kit, which results in better turn in.

3. The Perrin ALK kit makes more road noise than Whiteline's comfort and sport kit when you encounter bumps but the difference between the kits is not noticeable when you are smooth roads with regular surfaces.

does anyone know if it is legal for sts in autox? I read somewhere that ALKs aren't legal because they changge the cars geometry or something. Is this true, because they sound cool, but I want to shoot for STS? Thanx

Not legal

Do a search on NASIOC forum or even this forum and you'll find that ALKs are not legal for auto-x.

We are running the Perrin PSRS and love it. It makes the car much more fun to drive. It is very easy to install. If you are good with tools you and a buddie could do it in a afternoon.
