Only Brake Pads
Okay i gotta change brake pads and was wondering what would be good to just change my brake pads. Maybe later i'll change the lines and rotors. I want the ones that squeck when you brake. I know those racing brakes squeck alot. I've heard EBC greenstuff is good. What do you guys think?

i just wanted to replace the old ones with one that stops okay and doesn't squeak. The biggest concern is the squeaking sound. it's really irratating when you step on the brake and you hear that sound. i know those high performance racing brake pads squeak.

For the street I run Axxis Deluxe plus. I'm sure if I got out and played on some twisties I'd eat them up in a couple miles, but I got them just to have absolute minimum of dust and noise, and they haven't given the slightest hint of either yet. I use Stoptech Club Spec compound for track days, autocross, and the occasional group drive that I haven't actually been able to go to yet.

I run...(as compared to stock)
Front: Axxis Metal Masters
-more grip and lass fade
-3k miles and no squeaks
-very little dusting
Rear: Axxis Ultimate
-more grip and very little fade
-15k miles and now starts to squeak on initial braking
-I file down the edges of the pads every 5k now to stop the squeaks
-heavy dusting
For Axxis pads I recommend Ultimates in the front and MetalMasters or Deluxe in the rear. You definately want better front brakes first. I'll probably switch in that direction when I wear enough on these pads.

A little on the expensive side — but you could try the Cobalt Friction GT Sports. Plenty of pad for the Street. I've had mine for over a year and one and a half track days (turbo went) and they still have plenty of pad on them and barely make a peep. They do dust. I have the Axxis Ultimates in the rear. And I'm on the same set of rotors that came with the car.
