Lightbulb Need some suspension tips for an L

So far here's what i have

93 L 2WD with
Eibach Prokit
Sti Strut Tops (F&R)
KYB GR2 struts
Cusco Front STB

Need some advice on what i can add on to make the suspension handle better, not for racing but just for some spirited driving, any conversions???

Thinking of adding a Whitline Rear STB and a maybe a Sway bar (though someone told me i need some conversion for the sway bar since by car is not AWD, nothing to bolt on to)

Any help from you guys would be much appreciated

P.S. Please don't tell me to get a new car...can't afford for now, just some tips from you will do

Regards

You should get the rear sway bar. If you can find a junkyard ("auto recycler") that has an Impreza or Legacy with a rsb you should be able to transplant all of the necessary parts to add a rsb to your car. Then you could upgrade to a larger bar and solid endlinks.

Otherwise, your suspension dosen't look too bad, for an ol' two-wheel driver.

thanks for the input mule...will keep that in mind...mike shields from SPDUSA suggested the same thing, get a RSB from an RS or Legacy AWD from the junkyard and just transfer over the necessary parts to my car.

Thanks again

www.subarusuzukikiaparts.com is a good place to start looking Don. They are in Rancho Cordova right next to S-Squared's shop, so let me know if you are interested in going and I'll take you up there. Mike Shields is a good place to start for info- he got started with Subarus basically by converting Ls into RS' and later WRXs. I would also suggest getting the rear strut brace, and getting the extra chassis bracing that come on an RS to put in your L. Most important thing is tires though. Make sure you are running some good ones.

What kind of tires ARE you running don? I'm going to do the upgrade on Suzy soon, hopefully. Input from you would be helpful.

Get the S03s, especially if you have 15" wheels still... they are cheaper. Best tires evAR.

That looks like it's a summer tire. I live in Nebraska. I should prolly run all seasons.

S03s suck in snow but they are outstanding in the rain. If it were me, I'd get a set of steelies to run snow tires on. You'd be fine the rest of the time.

I'm thinking of starting off with a set of stock rex wheels with the standard RE92s. Decent all-season I guess but such a low treadwear rating... I'd prolly want to upgrade to a Dunlop or Yokohama after those.

The WRX wheels aren't all that good. They don't fit big brakes and are narrower than older RS wheels. Also, the RE92s aren't worth buying at any price, unless you're being forced to buy them to get the RS wheels. They aren't even good as 3-season tires.

I found a set of WRX wheels with RE92s for less than 300. What does a decent set of RS wheels go for usually? I kinda dig the gold ones with the color of blue that my car is.

RS wheels are usually $400ish, depepnding on what tires are on them.

you need stiffer springs... you can get custom rated eibach springs through ground control. (i dont recommend getting the "coilovers" from them though)

just call em up and tell em what you want and you can even get springs for whatever height you want too.
