MY05 rear sway bar info

i read somewhere that the MY05 wrxs use the same aftermarket rear sway bars as the STIs. has anyone else heard this? i want to make sure i buy the right sway bar for my MY05 wagon. if the MY04 is different from the MY05, then having a rear sway bar listed as "04+ WRX" wouldn't make sense. anyone who knows through experience, please help! thanks

the 04 and 05 sway bars for wrx sedan are the same. i don't know about the wagon, but that should be the same also. they are not the same as sti sway bars, i think they're a bit beefier and are 20mm.

From late '03 on, all the wrx swaybars are the smaller 17mm variety. The sti bars are 20mm and are actually about 2 inches longer and are very different than the wrx bars. The 02 and early 03 bars were the same length as the current bar but was 20mm.

He may be asking if the 05 WRX uses the under or over mounting points for the endlinks. I don't know since I haven't worked on an 05 WRX yet, but an 04 WRX and earlier mounts under the control arm and uses C shaped endlinks, the 04 STi and up mounts over the control arm and uses I shaped endlinks. I would just get under your car and check.
