I talked to a tech rep at Koni today and he informs me that they have developed a new design which will work with either the older or the newer rear top mount. They are just starting production now and expect to have available stock within a month. This is good news for those with the newer cars and want to upgrade their dampers without going to coil-overs. I believe this will also allow the use of an '02-'03 strut with '04-'05 springs and top mounts, which means you can put the new USDM STI pink springs on an '02-'03 vehicle by switching to the later Group-N mounts. That's what I plan to do on my '02 WRX wagon. It should be a nice set-up. :banana:

No, still inserts, just with a different tennon rod geometry to accept both rear top mount types.
