i've been thinking about wilwood
a month ago i put the turbokit on my '96 impreza 1.8... now it runs, but it needs break to! on 1.8's impreza, there's just disc brake on the front, and i've been thinking to put the wilwood kit: slotted 13" disc on the front with 6 piston caliper and slotted 12" disc behind, with 4 piston caliper.
whats ur opinion?!

That's a lot of brake for the car you drive. Have you looked into the factory Subaru 4-pots to see if they will fit your application? That's all that they are going to put on the '06 WRX and it's a heavier car than yours with more power. With big 6-piston calipers and 13" rotors, you will need to upgrade your wheels and tires to probably 18" rims (but check with Wilwood for their recommendations). It's ultimately the tire contact patch and compound that determines stopping power. To take advantage of those big Wilwoods, you'd have to run some pretty sticky rubber on your car. That's a bunch of money...

hum...
i already have 18" rims, but i'm gonna buy 17", because it gives more "racing style" to the car... i'm planning to start a jdm project...
so, i'm going to look for OEM WRX brake kits, or maybe some StopTech, like my friend's impreza GT have...
thanks! =)

FS : Wilwood 4 pots
Hi,
FYI I just take off a pair of 4 pots wilwood from my car today (planning to sell the car), It has a pair of new brake pads for street use from wilwood and install just 2 days before I take it off (yeah I know waste of money). If you interest pls let me know.
Thanks
Jason

I also have a pair of 4 pot wilwood (This is Perrin, but is in fact a wilwood dynalite caliper). I have several sets of pads for road and track (wilwood pads very low cost for what you get). I'm now running the stoptech big brake kit, so If anywon is interested. Please call Craig 408-460-1201. (I also have a couple sets of stock size front rotors, new in the box).

just keep in kind if you go for the wilwoods they dont use dust seals so the caliper is going to need to be rebuilt more often but the rebuilt kit is cheap and only takes half an hour to do
