How to get a little more ground clearance?

I have a stock 99' Impreza Outback Sport, and have finally chewed through my warranty and am ready to do some work on the car.

My big question here is what is the best way to get extra ground clearance? I live in Kodiak Alaska, so there's not a whole lot of performance driving going on...but there is a lot of off road. Getting an extra 2 or 3 inches under the suspension would do wonders for this thing to crawl on some of the back woods trails.

I'm not super mechanical, but I'm a quick learn, and any help or at least a point in the right direction you guys could give would be a huge help. Thanks.

Google Scorpion Suspension, they make lift kits for Subarus. I think it's an Aussie company.
