I just got around to installing my generic strut tower brace last night, and today I noticed that my hood was sitting almost 1/2" too high. Sure enough, when I popped the hand release, the hood jumped up and I could see that the brace was interfering with the underneath cover for the hood scoop. It was actually just the two parts that stick down off of it, which are there for the washer nozzles I guess, but those don't extend below the hood. Anyways, I pulled off my scoop backing plate, but I may just cut off the interfering part of it if I get tired of rain/dirt getting all over the top of my motor.

 

That is the problem when you go replica, nothing fits perfectly.

 

Which way do you have the bend in the bar? is it towards the back or front?

 

Towards the back, closer to the firewall. That's how the anchors came attached, and reversing it would have caused issues with the plenum box. If I decide I don't like having an open scoop, I will just modify it by cutting off the interfering pieces. No big deal.
