Do 02 WRX Springs Fit 95-99 BD?

I saw this car on sound domain and he said he used 02 WRX springs on his 95 Legacy Sedan. Does anyone know if this is true or bs?

I've heard this rumor before over on wrxforum.com, I think its true. Go there and send Legacy96OB a PM, I remember him talking about it a while ago.

Hm,

Sybir has WRX struts on his 97OB, but not the springs. I would assume they fit, but I'm not 100% sure.

I have '02 or '03 WRX struts with H&R Legacy springs on Mrs Oaf's 96 BG.
I first tried the WRX springs at first, but the rears were too soft & the front springs left quite a gap...picture a '64 Impala lowrider.
The obvious difference is how the brake lines attach to the strut...the WRX lines have a flange that is bolted to the strut. I took care of that with a set of Goodridge WRX lines.
Other than that, the struts are plug n play.

Struts bolt right up; there's one guy with an OB who's running WRX lowering springs on OB struts, but nobody that I know of running WRX springs (OEM or aftermarket) on Legacy strtus......

AndyC may be running the full WRX suspension setup on his '97 BD. IIRC, he bought a complete set of struts and springs and he's got it all installed now. May be worth sending him a PM.

Yep - wrx struts, springs, and tops will go right in with no problems. Only thing that does fit perfectly is the brake line holders, but those are super easy to rig. The rear of the car is the same height, but the front is actually about a half inch higher with the wrx setup. The ride is a bit firmer than before, but the drive-around-town feel is leagues better than the GT setup.

and its a 98 Brian. sheesh... hee hee...

So this is on a BG wagon correct?? WRX springs, struts, and Top hats?? I have another set of OEM wrx wagon springs that I want to install on my 97 legacy wagon?? The top hats do look different... I also just got some STi springs that I was going to try and put on there.. Any suggestions on how to do this?? thanks in advance.

ko-wrecked.

If it helps, here's the breakdown

BD/BG = 95-99 sedan/wagon, respectively.
BC/BF for the first gens
BE/BH for the 00-04 cars
and BL/BP for the new ones

BE/BH and BL/BP use a different rear suspension (multilink instead of strut) so nothing's compatible there, and noone knows about compatibility between the 00-04's and the new 05's yet.

What's interesting is that outer diameter of the front spring coils are the same except for the last/top coil, which is slightly smaller in diameter on the WRX/Impreza spring. If you're going to use WRX springs on your BG struts, you'll need the WRX spring cap...the part that's made from stamped metal and goes on before the top hat. It runs about $20 from Subaru.

Thank Oaf

Yeah thats the problem I ran into when I tried to put the WRX springs on. The top Spring perch is a different diameter. I'm taking my springs to one of the local shops to see which spring perch I'm gonna need. Obviously STi or maybe a WRX spring perch

So basically to sum all this up if you totally replace struts and springs it's no problem? but if you jus want to use springs they need to be modified?
Peace,
Kyle
