From: Sold my condo now I'm homeless

Car Info: 2002 WRX

Coilover check in

I'm doing all kinds of searches and checking reviews.
But there aren't many reviews compared to how many people actually have coilovers.

What do ya got and how do you like it?

Cusco Zero 2R's and I wouldn't have gotten anything else.

Anyone have any of the Endless/Zeal coilovers? I'm looking into the Function B6, but I can't find anyone who has em...

I have the Cusco Zero 2's. They are cool. How much do you want to spend? Mine were $1500. Simple install. You have to mess around with the settings depending on what type of ride you want. My normal everyday use settings, for example, yield understeer pretty bad. I have a Cusco titanium front strut bar also, but no lower rear sway bar. So, that is why. There are a bunch of settings that you can play around with that are cool. I can get rid of some of the understeer by softening the rear. The reason I'm telling you all this is because you may end up wanting to get other things to accompany the coi-over setup.

I think they are a little more now. One of the guys there gave me a pretty good deal on them. They have the Apexi ones for a good price, too I believe. If you live local, they also give discounts, but I don't know where you are at. They are cool guys, though.

if you soften the rear, having the front stiffer than the rear, that will cause understeer. I dont suggest getting coilovers until you at least change the stock tires, and learn the car first.

Seemed to help out when I did it. Who knows, maybe it is just driving style. Still getting used to it. I've only done front wheel drive cars on road courses. At least they were always turbos, so I'm used to that aspect.

I do agree that you may want to get different tires.

Depends on what type of driving you want to do. If you are on a budget, you can get a set of springs and just use the stock shocks. Many sets of springs cost around $200. Shocks/struts can get expensive, though. $400+

wrXratd has JIC's on his 02 wagon. you can PM him and ask how he likes them.

I had the Tein HA's on my 02 wagon and I loved them on the track but didn't love them for daily. They had 16-way adjustment on the damping but even on the softest setting it was to stiff for daily IMO. Also the pillowballs made a lot of noise after about a month of driving around, and the rebound of the coilover made a squish type noise. That was ok but the pillowball's drove me crazy. I switched over to STi 4-way struts and STi springs.
