Changing rear brakes
Changing rear brakes
Hey, sorry for posting in the general section, but I don't think many people were seeing my question in the brakes section.
Hey everyone. I need to change my rear brakes on my 2003 impreza rs. They are just starting to squeal a little as I'm driving. I was just going to a local auto shop and have them changed but they quoted me $195.00 per axle which I think is way too much. I have had some experience a long time ago helping a friend change front brake pads on a camaro, but I'm not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to that. I'm just wondering if anyone can tell me exactly how difficult it is to change the rear pads on this car. Also if anyone has step by step instructions of what to do or knows of where I can get this I would really appreciate it.
Also is there any special metric or torx tools I will need to do this?
Thanks a lot in advance for any help anyone can give.

Ironically I only saw your post in here because it's not the right forum
Anyway, I found a pretty well written tutorial for this on clubwrx. I'd like to rewrite it and make it look like I did all the work but I don't have the time, so I'll just link you

(I know the tutorial talks about front specifically but reading through the thread I get the impression the rears are the same
)

I just did a rear rotor and brake pad change and here are the links I found most useful, the rest I figured out.
