ceramic brake pads

Hi, I bought recently Setisfied gransport GS6 street carbon ceramic brake pads for my 1996 impreza GL ej20e non-turbo. But I'm in confusion because people say that ceramic brake pads work poorly until they are heated enough. Well I plan to use car for normal driving in city so it is important that brakes work properly from the start of the car, can you help me?

Those are pretty much normal brake pads with some ceramic material blended into the carbon. They aren't real ceramics like you would find on a high dollar sports car. Those are not likely to be found at the local auto parts place, and are extremely pricey. True ceramics are actually the rotors, not the pads.

*edit WOW. Just looked up the conversion kit for Porsche PCCS: $15K
