have you tried posting this on nabisco? there's a guy named bigsky or something that seems to know his suspension pretty well. that and ravensblade would be my first two guesses. then i'd probably try the guys at bozz or gruppe-s. after that you're gonna have to start taking japanese classes.

GDBA and GDBB spec C has no subframe. GDBC spec C has subframe back on.
The front suspention caster angle is different, which results in different arms and 15mm longer wheel base
The car is lowered by 10mm
The mounting point on the rear trailing arm is higher to change the roll center.

wow, somebody knows his stuff.
i wonder what the full spec C package goes for. and i wonder if there's such a thing as a wagon spec C package. then again i have been considering swapping in the sedan front end. now that would be just hot.

Let me list up what spec C is...
basically...
special engine, special ECU, VF34
transmission cooler, quick steering ratio
small diameter no airbag MOMO
special suspention and swaybars
special fuel pump with buffle plates
large water spray tank
DCCD (16inch wheel model)
rear clutch type LSD
no Power window no AC
no subframe, lighter bemper beam
no undercoat, no strut tower bar
small gas tank and small window washer tank
thinner window glass all around
no airbags
no seatbelt pretensioner
no sunvisor on passenger seat
no fog lights, no fog light cover, no HID
lightweight floormat
no trunk opener, no trunk carpet and plastic covers
Thinner sheetmetal on roof and trunk lid
[GDBA and B, GDBC is different]
Also it says in the brochure, 'please accept that the body might deform due to the thinner sheet metal' lol
it is impossible to convert US WRX to 'full' specC in another words
but gutting the car will get it somewhat closer. It's more of taking stuff off than putting parts in.
i mean.. whatever the cheapest car on the earth is better equipped than this

No problem, I think I can swap all that in over a normal weekend.
That's interesting though... Subaru's most hardcore street legal (sort of) race car uses no strut tower bar... now we know how important that really is.

yeah and no subframe either.
by the way i just went ahead and did the work after work today. only took an hour or two.
i wouldn't mind getting my greasy paws on that spec c suspension package though. i wonder if it's damped and sprung for the ridiculously low weight of that car. i bet it is but i also bet that the added weight of the normal car would help make the spring rates more streetable.

thanks for the great info. that is what i was looking for (i should say alex and i, we had ben discussing it a few weeks ago).
i believe all these changes are on the new 04 US wrx. i am curious about the rear trailing arm relocation. i think that would be the hardest place to try and make a stock wrx handle like the spec c.
making the car lighter is definatly a challenge. the bumper beams, and battery relocate would be the obvious, as well as the no AC and no power windows. but i dont think it is even an option to NOT have power windows on any US wrx or even RS/TS. it would be interesting if it is available, to swap out for manual windows and locks, how much youd actually save. most of the weight looks to be in the windows and sheet metal.
anyway, thanks again.
