the BEST lowering springs?

i know, i know, i've read all the product reviews but for me thats not enough. i need some first hand reccomendations; what are the best lowering springs for a 2003 wrx sedan. i want a spring that brings the car down low and gives it that agressive look but at the same time handles well and doesn't bottom out. i also want a spring that isn't gonna burn a hole in my wallet. i was thinking about the tein-s lowering springs but i've heard a lot of mixed reviews (i will say the price is good though). so what does everyone reccomend? -thanks

tanabe gf210. made my ride look alot cleaner. not tire wear issues from camber problems. lil bit higher than no fender gap. i heard tein feel to soft. these are pretty firm. 20k miles stock shocks. looks feels goods

There is no best.
Look at the spring rate. Springs ~25lbs stiffer per inch of drop will bottom out as much as factory and maintain factory geometry. That's just a guide number. Ther stiffer you go your struts will have more dampening them, which will shorten their life and compromise higher speed cornering, hence the need for stiffer struts. Changing the stiffeness front to rear is a tuning tool. There's a lot involved and i encourage you to leave the stock ones in.

I also have the tanabe gf210's. I dont have any picks yet but I didn't notice a significant increase in ride harshness. The spring rates are pretty close to stock on my 04 sti so I haven't had any strut problems............Yet...
tein-s are okay. they lower the car but do not completely get rid of the fender gap. i've noticed the ride is alittle more bumpy even with kyb-agx. can someone post some pictures of the tanabe gf210's on a bugeye? i'll post a picture of my03 on tein-s later.

See (and no offense intended, it is just an opinion) that looks too low to me. A Subaru is an AWD vehicle, it shouldn't give up all hope of off-road capability. For some reason the "slammed" look just doesn't seem compatible with the WRX or STI, though it certainly looks great on other cars.
Then again, "slammed" trucks really bother me too -- I just can't stand to see something that was meant to climb boulders now unable to go over a speed bump without scraping.
Anyway, I think the question you have to ask here is which do you want, performance or cosmetics? The Tanabes and Teins certainly deliver on the cosmetic side; on the performance side, I'd say Eibach or SPT springs. I'm actually going to gamble on some Whiteline Control springs, because my 02 WRX is going to be all Australian when I build it up, but sadly I can't find anyone who has them to get some direct feedback.

P.S. - I know what you mean about trucks. In Hawaii, all you see is trucks with chrome rims, dropped and what not. They all buy it for the image, not for it's hauling capabilities.

I just put Prodrives on my 'O3 WRX and I love them. Handling response has increased greatly, without a lot of loss in ride comfort. It also lowers the car "just right."
As far as lowering a wrx, If you have 17" wheels, it helps to lower the car to get rid of the annoying front wheel gap (IMO). And if you don't rally your wrx, then I don't see the harm in lowering it. To each their own, though. It's a matter of taste.
