Anyone with Ohlins experience?

I'm contemplating a set of Ohlines Sportsline with 12/10 swift springs. This is gonna be for my daily driver, with a track day once in a while, i also do a lot of mountain driving. I have whiteline group4s right now, they are very comfortable but im just looking for something stiffer. Any feedback on ohlins would be much appreicated

Are these Ohlins valved for 12/10 springs? If I remember correctly, they are valved for around 400 lbs/in which is around 8kg/mm? are you sure they will support 12 kg?

why not just send your Whitelines back for a revalve and buy new springs for them? You will have correct valving to match with the spring rates that you want and possibly save you some money buying a new set of coilovers. Just a suggestion.

No idea about Ohlins for cars, but for motorcycles, they are one of the best.

I've got Ohlins on my BMW R1100RT, they are a great improvement over the stock BMW suspension. Compliant yet controlled, keeps the wheels planted to the road with no floating or harshness.

Ohlins shocks are whats used on the WRC car. And if you look on their site, youll see that they offer shocks for all imprezas. I want to go with this setup as well but id want to upgrade all the bushings first and wait my pinks start to fade. I think a remote resevoir setup is super trick and being a german made product , you know its goin to be a step above the rest in terms of quality. no prices on the site though.

yes, the 3 ways adjustable Ohlins (Club man?) are incredible, but Sportline is 1-way adjustable, which is nothing special. Custom valved/spring rates G4 should work better than a set of OTS Ohlins (valved for 8kg f and 6kg r) with custom spring rates.

good info, yeah I loved my G4s on the street, I thinnk I would go that route instead of Ohlins if I still had them just for the $$ factor.

thx for all the info, okay here's the deal. This guy is willing to trade me these coilover straight up for my G4s ... one catch is that i pay for my shipping and 50 bucks for his and he covers the rest of the shipping on his side. So it's pretty much a straight trade ... what do you guys think? should i do it? and how much would stiffer springs and revalving cost?

Here's the link to the sale: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=958359

if it's a straight trade then go for it! You could try it first and decide if you want a revalve which should not cost you a lot more than revalving the G4. It will definately a lot stiffer than your current set that's for sure.

Ask him what happened to the helper springs, and also if the ears are re-welded in the bigger picture. It looks kinda dark.
