I notice Baer has a front BBK kit for $850-ish -- half of the cheaper BBK kits and one-third the cost of the Brembos. They're definitely not as sexy as the others, but if you delete the red paint somehow (how to do?) they'd almost look stock -- except for the huge rotors. Pretty stealthy, then.

I used a Baer kit on my 1989 Merkur -- and they worked really, really well. Easy to install, too -- though they did specify mounting the adaptors backwards! I musta been the only moron who bought them as they didn't know about the mistake until I called!
