Alright, here's the car on stock suspension but with 225/45/17 tires.

No rubbing but obviously very little room for adjustability.
I have no urge to go any lower, but I want to make the ride stiffer.
I'm not a big fan of putting aftermarket springs on stock struts because they aren't inherently designed for each other. However, I am a cheap bastard.
What are my options?

I wouldn't get camber plates if you aren't planning on coilovers or GC sleeves. With stock OD springs, you're limited to about .5 degrees of added negative camber with them. Instead, I would get the STi GroupN tophats and camber bolts. Cheaper, sharpens up steering response, and gives you even more camber adjustability.
Since you want a stiffer ride without lowering, I would suggest using some KYB AGX on stock springs first. You can stiffen up damping, and still have stock height. Plus, the low settings on AGXs match stock.
If you do springs instead, the Eibachs, prodrives, whiteline controls, STi, and SPT springs all work well. they have similar rates and drops, and it's not coincidental.

You know Ban, truth be told, I'm not factoring out coilovers. I've even thought about experimenting with my Flexes off of my WRX on the RS. I just don't like rushing into something that's a lot of work unless I've got all of my details straight.
I'm not to anxious to get aftermarket springs on the stock struts, although I know there are hundreds of folks running them with some satisfaction.
I've given some serious thought to the AGX. I just hesitate to buy them until I've factored every other option away and those meet all of my criteria.
I've never thought about the GroupN & camber bolts. I'm going to have to do a little research.

Your flexes will fit on the RS fine, as long as you get tophats for the rear for the GC. Again, I'd go with the STi Group N pieces. If you put them on, then the Tein tophats in the front will be great.
