hey everyone, im looking to lower my 98 2.5rs. Now i know that the handleing characteristics of the impreza are verry precise and are not ment to be messed with to much(too low). But I would love to drop the car about an inch or so. I have been looking around at all the different springs and there are a bunch to choose from. I have been leaning twards the springs that cobbtuning sells, i think they are sti.
Does anyone have any previous experience with the gc8 and its suspension? about just how much would springs differ from each other?> I want the BEST handling posible...i dont really care about ride stiffness. any info would be great thanks !

From what I can gather the STi setup is the way to go, short of going to coilovers (with coilovers you can be lower, stock, or even a little higher - when you want). I think the drop with the STi springs, if any, is minimal (less than .5").
I'm attempting to switch to a WRX setup on my '01. From what I understand you get a .75" LIFT with this, so I am trying to fiddle with mild lowering springs for a WRX - to get roughly the same ride height. I'll let you know how it goes.
