really? did you see this bar on the 04 it came off, to make sure it fit correctly and its not possibly tweaked?
and what strut bar is this?

when installing have you tried separating the bar into 3 pieces? first bolting on the top hat plates then the cross bar between the two?
thats all i can think of to help the install.
if thats not working, somethings not right. either the bar is tweaked or your strut towers maybe?
a picture may help to see where the misalignment is.

Nope it's neither, the guy now told me he was selling it for a friend and didn't know this didn't fit on 2002-2007. He acted like it fit on his car when he was selling it.

If thats the person you bought it from then you can clearly see the replies that were made a month before this thread here. In the replies there it states it is for the GC!
The replies show you didn't actually read any of them there seeing how it was the GC model before and after your replies on Nasioc. So the fault isn't on the seller its on you for not reading.
