Question 2.5RS brakes - interchangeable w/ WRX?

I've got a 2002 2.5RS, late model. It runs the 2003 2.5RS brakes I believe.

Do any of the WRX brake parts interchange with what I've got?

Front or rear?

I'm sitting on rear WRX rotors & pads, and I've discovered that I don't think the front interchange at all. Does anyone know for sure?

Pad shapes are shared with the WRX from the RS, but not rotors. If you have the '03 shape, you need '03 WRX pads, and if you have the older shape, you need the older pad.

Yes, as long as you have the right brackets for your version caliper. Many people have done this, myself included (briefly).

Does that go for the rear as well?

And how easy is it to swap the caliper brackets over? Can I just get the brackets at the dealership?

Your rear brakes are already the same as a WRX. Yes, you can get the brackets at the dealer. www.subaruwrxparts.com is a good place to get them.

I've got a 02 RS as well, I guess is earlier model. Anyone knows or has done a 06' WRX 4-pot caliper conversion? Do you still need the WRX rotor and bracket?

It would work great. You would need the calipers, rotors, and pads.

Does the 4pot caliper/rotor/pad upgrade still fit under the OEM MY05 2.5RS 16" wheels?

Hey,

I just did this for my 04' 2.5 wagon. I bought WRX slotted/CD rotors on ebay and got the caliper spacer brackets from Subaruparts.com The spacers cost me about 120 (with shipping) and I paid $250 for F&R rotors with shipping. You can pick up just the fronts for about $150

The factory brake calipers are the same between the WRX and 2.5 for that particular year. They changed up the pads between 02 & 03 and 03 & 04.
So if you have an 02 2.5 make sure you get the brake parts for an 02 WRX. I think the rotor sizes were not changed until 06.

Here is the link for the spacers. just make sure that your year has the same spacers.

http://www.subaruparts.com/cart/?id=...000+26225SA010

If you go to the contact us page and give them your specific vehicle info they are really good at getting back to you with the parts.

Here are the rotors that I picked up from ebay. Seller ID: sport_brakes
If he does not have them listed shoot him an email and he will get them.
