Exclamation 06 suspension help

ok guys i have an 06 2.5i.... i am looking to do some coilovers... which would you prefer between the tein basic's and the eibach prostreet coilovers? does anyone have either set? and what do you think of them. I will also be installing sway bars and strut tower bars... any advice guys....im going with either of these because they seem like the least complicated but also made just for where i drive which is on the street.. i have no intention of racing or auto xing, just want to eliminate my wheel gap and perform better over stock...

I had the Tein flex coil overs for a bit with group-N top mounts and the ride was harsh. not sure many people have going with the eibach prostreet COs. check darkonions thread if you really want coil overs.

i'm looking at getting the Tokico D-Spec setup next year to replace my AGX setup.

Thanks Matt.

Suspension is kind of tricky. My spectrum thingy lists a variety of coilovers. The list is growing, but it can give you a rough idea of how things work.

First question you should ask yourself is:

What type of driving do I do?

Shock and spring set-up's are a really nice over-all set-up. Kind of dummy proof. Not to mention KYB and Koni both have "limited" life-time warranties on their shocks. Coilovers requires you to be a little more specific. Are you looking for a pure comfort/show set-up, a full race set-up, or something in between? Keep in mind that some set-up's are built for different purposes.

I've had ridden in the Tein Flexes and they aren't too bad. They would be a set-up that is best for street and light motorsport use. As for the Eibach's, I am not too sure.

The best piece of advice for me to give to you is to ride a bunch of set-up's in the category you are looking for. Keep in mind that you are choosing a set-up based on your tendencies and preferences.

Darkonion, Thanks bro. I went with a few reliable people with their experience and just ordered the Tein Basics.. Once they are in I will give everyone a review on them, also picked up the eibach camber bolts just in case dropping it throws everything too out of wack

I don't know if you'll need camber bolts. You might for the rear. The chances are that you'll have front camber plates, but just pillowball mounts for the rear. If you are just running a street set-up, chances are you won't need the chamber plates.

Basics do not come with camber plates i believe, but you should have enough adjustment up front with the stock camber bolt. I am not a fan of the basics at all, but if you are not doing anything serious, they may be ok

Verdict is in... i installed the basics two weeks ago, yes i know i took a bit long to post... and i like them the ride is smooth and not so harsh over bumps that its not enjoyable.... i have a nice looking drop without slamming and have plenty of adjustment up of down.... installing was a pita tho! if you dont have air tools get a lot of PB Blaster and a 19mm box wrench you will save yourself a lot headches haha
