06 impreza axle gear oil

Hey guys my cv boot tore and I was wondering what gear oil is used in them? Does anyone know

Eek! No oil in there dood. It's grease. You gonna re-boot it? Of its the inner boot, less work overall to just get a new or reman axle.

It was gear oil what I had in the boot wen it tore. Grease does not splash nor smell like manual transmission gear oil. But it's all done I replaced it because I had no time
