04 vs 07 STI suspension??

I had a 04 STI and the suspension was too stiff to drive daily. Yesterday I went and drove a 07 STI and it seemed that the suspension was alot more forgiving. Does anyone know the difference between the two year models as far as the suspension goes??

As well as aluminum suspension components in the rear as opossed to stamped steel on the 04. I heard that both materials used for the rear suspension weigh the same though. Steering rack was changed in 05 and wider rims from 7.0 to 7.5.I have an 04 STi and the ride is ALOT more stiff than newer models. I have driven in 2 06 STI's and both are really "cooshy" compared to mine when it was stock.

Cool thanks for your replies, one of the reasons why I sold my 04 STI was due to the harshness of the ride. After driving and liking the 07 ride, I am thinking about getting a STI again.

According to Drive Performance magazine, all STis for 2007 will have steel control arms and rear parallel links, replacing the previous aluminum units. The rear anti-sway bar will go from 20mm to 19mm, but the magazine doesn't specify if the spring rates have changed. Going to a smaller diameter anti-sway bar makes for better ride quality but body roll can be adjusted by spring rates, too.
