02-03 strut tops........
i've recently accquired a 2004 wrx sedan and am in dire need to have this thing lowered. i'm planning to either go w/ the eibach pro kit, or the prodrive set. the only thing is that the eibachs wont be available until late fall(or so they say) and theres no word on the prodrive's.
now my question to all of you, is converting the 04 strut tops to the 02-03's worth it. if i do this all the spring kits and coilovers made for the 02-03's will be able to fit my wrx, right? or should i wait another few months for the actual kits to be produced?
im figuring that all the kits will be the same except the rear tops anyway, and nothing's really changed cept' the body style but i'm probably wrong so........................HELP!!!!!!!!!

i'm not quite sure why the rear strut tops are different , but they are. i used the 03 rear strut tops in my 04 with 03 h&r springs. 2000 miles later......no problems.
feel free to shoot me an email with any other 03 vs 04 related questions as i don't check the boards regularly. for example i recently did find differences in the engine mounts/pitch mounts when doing the uppipe install.

i'd just use the STi strut tops if you're going to bother changing out the stock ones. they'll help with the feel of the car by eliminating some of the play found in the stock units.

You need to ensure that the tops you buy are appropriate for the springs you want. Decide what suspension you want to run and get the correct top for that. Chances are, you will end up wanting a set of 02/03 tops.
not to hijack the thread, but if you want to run GC springs, I have a set of strut tops intended for adapting '98-'01 type springs to a GD chassis.
