Just released!

LIC Motorsports 5x114.3 to 5x100 Bearing/Hub Conversion*

LIC Motorsports has been working long and hard to bring these 5x114.3 to 5x100 conversion Bearings/Hubs to the marketplace. Ever since the release of the custom modified knuckles back in early 2011, the demand has been made and it is now available.

Commonly folks whom track their cars are trying to upgrade the bearings b/c the older style stuff just has too much failure under harsher conditions. These OEM 05+ STi bearing/hub assemblies have been machined down to fit the WRX and 04 STi. The lug pattern has been changed/drilled to 5x100 and outer OD has been trimmed to accommodate the smaller ID in those rotors. This is a perfect way to do things in stages and avoid the step of having to get rid of the current 5x100 wheels/rotors. These bearings still require the use of 05+ Knuckles (be sure to check out all the optoins LIC Motorsports has available in the "Knuckles Catalog", which cover's everyone's needs to be able to run these units).

Notes:

-Fitment: 02-07 WRX, 04-08 FXT, 04 STi
-Will require the use of LIC Motorsports 6mm or 8mm ABS/Speedo Ring Spacer
-ARP Extended Studs can be substitued
-Sold in pairs only (Quanity 2)

These can be found in our Bearings/Hubs Catalog: LIC Motorsports + Bearings/Hubs Catalog | Buy Online at LICmotorsports.com!

LICmotorsports 12-02-2011 08:56 PM

and should mention these are in stock and ready to ship (if you end up going that route), would highly recommend converting your rears to all 5x114.3, we have those parts too. the nice thing about having an 04 STi is its a simple hub/bearing conversion on the rear and obviously we have the fronts taken care of as well. Rear parts run like $500 (off top of my head)...just thought I would toss this info your way.

Let me know

-Noah

jdblock 12-02-2011 10:12 PM

I'll probably give my car a nice gift for X-mas and wait on the rear bearings and hubs until I figure out what rims I want. Hope to be out at GTA next season and have to figure out my expenses first. We'll see.

Awesome pieces, looking forward to having a set one of these days!

Getting tired of finding 04 sti stuff to replace haha

jdblock 01-14-2012 05:38 PM

I installed the basic kit yesterday, without having to take the axles out to press on the tone ring spacers.

Drove around today doing some errands. Steering is much sharper and feedback to the steering wheel is increased compared to running the 04 STi knuckles (and bearings). Makes my Q-Rack feel like new again. Tracking through turns is more precise and adding power mid corner doesn't lead to understeering. Highway driving is a little more relaxed because the car isn't wandering as much as before, I don't have to correct the car as much.

Overall I'm happy with the upgrade and hope to be changing bearings less often.

Thanks for the feedback jdblock...everything you feel is spot on (vs. the 04 stuff). I can assure you the 05+ wheel bearings will last you 10x the amount of time as the old style. If its means much, in over 2+ years of racing we have yet to replace our bearings. I know others who competitively race there Subaru's and they have never replaced there's either. Although track/race cars see less mileage they do see much more heat and harsher loads...so I think that comparison will still reign true for street applications.

Glad you are enjoying the kit, we ensure it was direct plug-n-play fitment with zero sides effects; even down to the install.

I would be happy with 2x as long. This is the road I went and drove today. Cruised down to the bottom and did a hill climb back up about 2,000' of a climb. I put my car through hell sometimes. Gave my diffs a workout around that hairpin and a few others as well. Your conversion kit is awesome! Thanks for making it available to the public, and so I can enjoy my car that much more.

MonsterGC 01-15-2012 01:18 PM

I might have confused myself, your p.c.d still 5x100 right?

jdblock 01-15-2012 01:36 PM

I have 5x114 hubs re-drilled for 5x100 with ARP studs. LIC should offer this as an option. :)

LICmotorsports 01-15-2012 06:35 PM

We have it in the works but doing the CAD design, CNC work, and to make it worth while we need a bunch of confirmed units upfront, otherwise we have a part we've invested into with zero interest....so far there hasn't been a lot of interest as of yet

-Noah

jdblock 01-16-2012 06:33 AM

Catch-22? No part, no interest. No interest, no part.

LICmotorsports 02-08-2012 08:16 PM
Catch-22? No part, no interest. No interest, no part.
Sorry I missed this response jdblock. Ha ha, yes I agree with what you're saying. Just needs to make sense on our end, its really as easy as me getting it done but that = me shelling out a bunch of funds. I have no issues with doing that, as long as I see a vested interest in others. As of yet I have not seen that and yes I agree with your statement. Everyone wants to see something tangible and be able to look, smell, touch it....but at this moment in time, I can't justify my money going there (at this moment anyways).
