wrx, sti, whats the big difference?

ok, so im in iraq and when i get home i want to buy either a brand new wrx, or a brand new sti. now ive been studying the subaru site for about 2 hours now trying to really figure out why the sti costs 10grand more than the wrx.

now first the easy differnce to see is the 69 hp difference, as well as the torqe diff, caused undoubtably by the hp difference. is this because of a bigger turbo, more boost, or something more? they do have the same engine, that im sure of.

the next difference i came up with is the fact the sti comes with a 6 speed tranny as the wrx has a 5 speed, personally i dont like 6 speeds. i test drove an sti (i loved it!) but the only thing i found i didnt like was reverse... im still not really sure how to do it i had the car salesman do it for me haha. does this tranny hold any more power than the wrx's 5speed? ive never heard of anyone having to touch 6th gear in a race of any distance. hell my eclipse gets up to 150 and im sure it doesnt even touch the hp of either the wrx or sti. going over 150 is a little more than i need on any road!

the very last thing that crossed my mind was the sti does look a little more sporty than the wrx, but with all the carbon fiber upgrades and wide body kits out there that really doesnt matter to me. the sti and wrx are built on the same frame correct? (real question, i dont know)

some things i was wondering, do the wrx and sti have the same suspension and do they have the same turbo setup?

if its just a matter of throwing on a new turbo set up for 5grand to match or beat the hp of an sti then please let me know so i can laugh at sti's when i smoke them in my wrx!

STi has...

Brembo brakes

Better seats

Different turbo (I think there are slight differences in the actual engine too)

Better tranny (The six speed is almost bullet proof while the 5-speed is much weaker and sometimes has been proven to be inadequate for even the power levels of the wrx)

Wing

17 inch bbs wheels with far superior tires than the wrx

If you decide to buy a wrx plan on spending an extra 500 dollars immedietly because the stock tires are complete crap.

Test drive both and see what you can and can't live without.

also, the suspension parts are far superior compared to a wrx. when i traded up from my wrx to my STi, you could tell the handling was extremely improved.
