which one is better '04 or '05. i have trouble deciding which one to buy.

Well.. you should be able to get a good deal on a 04...the only thing is that you will have to look for it if you are interested in a certain color...

You should checkout the new colors.. I just bought a black 04 sedan.. but when I got to the dealer i saw one of the 05 with a crystal grey metallic color that look nice... also the rims on the 05 have a different color.. (i think they look better than the 04 rims) they look good on black...

Interior changes include the stereo which looks a bit better but don’t know if that makes it sound better than the 04 (the 04 stereo sound like crap)..and the steering wheel.. It still a momo but I definitely like the 04 style better than the 05...

Go to a dealer.. that has both sit on both and you will decide..

i'd say, buy a used 2002 WRX and modify the crap out of it. just trying to be loyal to the bug-eyes. but if i had to choose, i'd go with the '05, or whatever you can afford, like mentioned above.

 

I'd say to go with what you can afford. If the '05 is a few thousand more, that extra will make a pretty good difference in the monthly note. The insurance will probably be more expensive on an '05. IMO, ungraded paint colors and console upgrades aren't worth the extra money. You still have the heart of the car.........the WRX powerplant. And that's what really counts.

 

I say go with whichever one you can get the best deal on. The difference between the two are minor. Drive them both, spend a little time in each one then decide. Either way you can't make a bad choice.

 

i like the '05s new color, smoked headlights, and single tip exhuast. i don't like the new center console, steering wheel, and rims. it's kind of a toss up depending on what you think you of the changes, but to me not worth the price difference you can get an '04 at. also 1.9% financing too.

 

Can anyone confirm some of the mechanical changes that were reported for the '05s like the strengthened tranny case with double-cone synchros on each gear and improved steering rack (I think its improved bushing much like the popular whiteline steering busing mod)? These are the only real things that make the '05 more desirable than the '04 if the changes are true.

My local dealer is offering me 300 under invoice (22586 is invoice i think?) with an addition of 750 off in rebates for an '04 base model WRX. Is this a good deal or do you guys think I can get something better?

 

I think the vents and stereo on the 05's look cheaper, but I do like the wheel better. I would go 04 and get a better deal. You can clear and smoke the headlights yourself easily. You will also most likely change the rims anyways.
