Sulphur Smell
I have a 2002 TS Wagon. After filling up and starting the engine/ or turning off the ignition and re-starting quickly, theres a strong sulphur smell out of the exhaust.
Anyone know what is causing this? The dealership service dept said hard driving will cause this, and blamed it on the K+N Drop in filter I have.

it may be the extra airflow from the filter is cause a rich condition, (I am saying this w/out knowing much about the engine manangement sys for subies) the extra fuel could be too much fuel for the engine to burn and sending fuel out of the combustion chamber on the exhaust stroke and forcing the Cat to work overtime. If this is the case the cat will eventually fail. There are some cars that smell like that normally when they are running rich (ie. warmup, goosing the throttle while in a high gear on an incline) I have noticed a lot of Toyota's stink like *** when I am behind them on the highway.
yes it will adjust.please remember that the quality of fuel from place to place and brand name will make a difference.the adjustment doesnt come as quick as you would think thou, after possible poor fuel it can take up to 2 tank fulls and then re-set (ecu).a scan tool checking the long and short fuel trim can tell you if it is due to running rich or poor fuel.
