Ok I found a 02 impreza 2.5RS with 50k on chassis and a kaaz tranny for 4000 dollars total. Problem is it does not have a motor. How hard is it to put a motor into one of these and what are some things I should look out for when it comes to something like this. I've got a buddy who is a honda tech who is gonna help me put the motor in with the aid of a former subaru tech as well. Do you guys think this buy will be worth it or more headache than its worth? Any and all input will be appreciated.

 

I would worry about why there is no motor. Also why is there an aftermarket transmission in the car? Stolen/beaten up on REALLY bad?

It's not hard to swap in an engine - a lot of shops can put a WRX motor in for not too much money. Check out LIC motorsports (they're in the bay area) but they're very experienced with swaps.
