the biggest problem with a/c order is due to leafs passing thru the fresh air intake(located by wipers-grilled section)and collecting in the evaporator case.we use a product called frigi fresh to kill the order.but if you dont remove the leafs,it will always be there.needless to say, clear away the fresh air intake from time to time.

Do you have any info on how to open up the ac evaporator case to clean out the leave and/or mold? I have an 02 WRX wagon.

try this...

run the engine until it hits the normal temp. and then turn on the heater to the hottest for 5 mins, and the smell should be gone, and you can do this whenever the smells appear...but remember dont' use the re-circulate function all the time...because it will build up the smell so quick.

if your evap case has a in cabin filter, you can easily remove the cover.replace filter and remove leaves.without the cover i always remove the case and remove evap coil asnd clean.not a hard task you wikll need to evacuate and recharge the a/c system thou
