A 7 year/100,000 mile warranty on an STi shouldn't be more than $1200 or so, and is worth it as long as you don't plan to mod (why pay for a warranty that will be voided?) but definitely skip the rustproofing, since the car already has undercoating.

dont get the warrenty at the dealership save the $$ and get an extended warrenty else where...the dealership is the middleman in extended warrenties thus you pay more...find out what extended warrenty comp. they use and go directly to them...HTH

No reason not to buy the warranty from the dealer as long as you're willing to haggle with them. Of course they mark them up, but like anything else you can talk them down to a good price.
