Hi folks,
I tried running a search, however didn't get anything back (maybe im not searching properly  ). Hope this is the right place to ask this. I was just wondering if anyone knew if there had been problems with discoloration of the suede in the STi over time, due to the sun? If so, what are some ways I can safeguard/prevent/slow the process of that happening without the risk of a ticket for tinted windows (with solar guard, if that even helps).. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, as we all know, blue turns green after the sun is done with it, and i really love the seats in my '06, wouldn't want them to get fux0red (sorry mods if thats in appropriate).... Mucho grassy azzzzz in advance

Tint your windows and buy a custom car cover if its left outside. My cars been outside for the past 8 months and still brand new like the first day I drove it off the lot. My cars double covered and sometimes goes in the garage but no discoloring so far. Hope that helps

The seats use a synthetic suede. I believe Alcantra and Escaine are just trademarked names/brands for the same basic material.
From what I've read it is supposed to be resistant to stains, odors, and fading. The downside however is that as it wears it'll lose its 'grip' and texture as it becomes smoother.
If you can find some cars that use it for steering wheel inserts, you'll see they often wear down and become completely smooth within a relatively short time because of how high-traffic the wheel is in terms of wear. On seats though they should be able to go a few years at least without any appreciable wear.

Does anyone no of a good way to clean the seats if there is a stain or mark on them? I don't have wny yet, but am just wondering about the future. BTW, I do have limo tint, and I love it. The car looks like a totally different car.
