International Institute for Highway Safety

Rates the car as a best pick with Good (highest rating) in all categories.

As far as dependability, there are multiple people who have 100,000+ miles on theres with no problems. My WRX has over 15,000 already and she's still running strong. Great car, IMO.

Don't forget that the ratings by the IIHS are only for what happens when you do get in to an accident. Don't forget to point out the four wheel ABS, all wheel drive and great handling of the WRX to help you avoid accidents. Also, the car is child friendly - there are rear ties for better mounting of childrens seats (at least there are in the sedan, I'm not sure about the wagon). The car is also very comfortable for longer drives - I did 250 miles on Saturday and wasn't even tired when I got home
