Prodrive P1
1999-2001 Prodrive P1, i live in Ohio and i was wondering how i could go abouts getting one of these mean machines? i know that its illegal unless like you have a residence in the UK or like you buy two and give one to the government so they can perform a crash test.....all i want to know is how i could get one. or has anyone tried to convert their 2.5rs into a P1?

It's not that it's illegal to have one of these cars in the states, you just couldn't register it and legally drive it on the public roads. Private roads/lots and tracks are fair game for any unregistered car.
It's like the Skylines from Motorex. They went through the expense of crash testing them and certifying them in the US so people could drive them on the roads. However, you could get a Skyline from Japan and put it in your garage for you and all your friends to drool over. You'd only be in trouble if you pull it out into the street.
Symantics I know, but for some it is an important distinction.

back in a day when donald trump wanted some euro/japan cars he had the same obstacles back in a day. except they were more strict back then. his way out of the regulations was to build his own roadways to where he wouldn't have to make his skylines and other cars dot approved with the stipulation that he has to drive them only on his own private roads.
thats not my suggestion but just a thought. is this car that important to you?

Right, which would be the equivalient of a race track or parking lot that is already available to race around. No need to hob *** w/ the Hair to race your non-dot approved car.
Seriously though, there are lots of tracks and track days available where you could run such a car without being loaded. Although to get one of those here you would have to have a good bit of money I would think.
