Procedure to replace interior (climate control) fan on impreza?

Procedure to replace interior (climate control) fan on impreza?
Can anyone who has done this or who has the service manuals for the older generation (gc8) impreza give a quick overview? Mine has been making more noise lately, so I think the fan motor bearings are on the way out. I'd like to do it myself if it doesn't involve removing the entire dash.
