price i got from dealership

so i went with my brother this past saturday shopping for an 04 wrx. with my research and ads in the paper here is what i was offered. an 04 wrx, brand new, 5 speed with a premium package, blue, and security system upgrade w/ auto-dimming mirror for $23000 and $24900 OTD. the sales rep said that his manager might give it to me for $24750 OTD if i make a deposit on the car since he does not have one on the lot. i'm going back with my dad saturday to see if i can get it for $24500 OTD. First I will go to one more dealership on Friday since i've been to a total of 3 so far. if all goes well saturday, i'll keep you guys posted on my final price. Do you guys think im getting a good deal so far?

i think i would be getting a great price for 24.5 otd. i mentioned everything to the salesman, the rebates(750 and 500) and what another dealer had as a price. the car that i mentioned is costs $24700 invoice. he's willing to sell for 23k. i think 1700 below invoice is good, but it will be around 2000 below invoice if i get it for 24.5 otd. what do you think?

anytime you can buy the car below msrp its a good deal. if you go to kelley blue and look up new car pricing it will show you invoice and as well as the msrp. . .then they will figure out a "blue book" for that particular car depending on your zip code. if you want to become a really good and informed customer a good way to shop is to research the cars cost and then trying to find a dealer that will accept your offer which should be a reasonable enough offer fo the dealer to accept. basically u have to ask yourself "how much profit does the dealer deserve? and how much do i really want to pay?"

in my area the new car pricing for the car is $21,637

That is a solid deal. You could probably do better than that, but you shouldn't feel bad about that deal.

although true in many dealerships... i am one of those "carsales people". and i make it a point not to lie. not only is it against my beliefs, but the general subaru buyer is not exactly the kind of person u want to lie to. most of them are highly educated and the general price of a subaru is not exactly like that of a honda or toyota. so u can guarantee that buyers will know exactly what they wanna pay.

if you don't mind with lying to people then yes use that advice. if u are not that kind of person then i suggest that u find a "reputable" dealership and do business there. a basic rule of thumb(along with common sense) is to offer the dealership a fair amount of profit over their vehicle cost. there are many internet resources that will disclose the vehicle costs and show "suggested offers".

I got my 04 WRX for $21,750. That was back in December of 2003 when it first came out. with premium package: Spoiler, Dim mirrors, security system, extended armrest.
$24K is pretty much a rip of. I still think that I got ripped off with the price I got. I think that I can still lower it if I would sai no to the price they gave me. lol

there is no way you can get a wrx for 21xxx w/ premium package and the other 3 options. there just is no way. i was quoted 23k for 5 speed w/ premium pckge, ss upgrade, and auto-dim mirror.
