Hi. glad to know this awesome place with cool guys.
Here is the thing.
Dream : 2004 USDM STi - new
My condition)
1) I don't have money.
It means I have plenty of time to wait. (though I'm impatient)
I'm not sure but I just heard Sti has produced small number..
so if I want to get good deal, I gotta wait' til
maybe the end of this year,,,,
2) I don't have garage and tools now..
I'm a man with almost nothing now.
just come in the US alone a year ago, and even I am planning
to move small US town due to my univ.
So, I wanna get a car with pretty much pre-tuned.
(one of main reasons that STi is in my list now.
Evo? I am not attracted... dunno why...
350z? honestly like it... pre tuned... nismostuff... but...)
WRX seems really good though need lots of work.
I wanna small work as possible. (so, go to STi)
Anyway I took 3options
- TURBO BOOST GAUGE $297
- PERFORMANCE GAUGE PACK $638
- Wheel lock $ 39 (not a big deal)
about gauges, I am not sure maker options are good for me.
It seems pricy for me,,, If there are lower price, better quality
aftermarket product, I won't take those.
So total with option $32664... (wow
)
and more money to install audio system(it seems it's not standard) and short shifter... and more and more...
anyway... I really look for advice that how I start.
- HOW I CAN GET A BEST DEAL?
- trade? (with my rsx and pay extra?) or pay at one time?
or wait til winter? with option or not?
And if can you just tell me brief negotiable bottom price?
Any suggestion would be great help.
I know my questions are messy. (sorry)
It is my first time with subaru. I don't know too many things.
I am gonna learn stuff in here...
thanks you for help and hi again.
Sti is too cool to resist.

Hey whats up!? i'm new to forum and i'm also looking into getting a new car soon. I keep going back and forth from the wrx and wrx STi.
Anyways, sounds like you know what you want, you just gotta wait it out til your financially ready for it. And get the options you want. I too thought the performance guage pack is too expensive so i won't get that, but boost guage i'm definately for. As for bargaining and such.... there's not much room for bargain with the STi. At best i see people getting the vehicle at invoice and maybe with snow tires added in. So try to do your best, but don't expect more than that.
Is your rsx paid for? if not... is what you owe on it more or less than what it's worth at trade in??
FYI... i have a truck that i was gonna trade it. I now decided to pay it off so when i trade it in, the whole trade-in value comes off the price of the car i'm buying. I'm doing this mainly because i haven't found the right car at the moment and i'm going to wait it out til the time is right and i find the car i want!
Good luck

The Bare Bones Way.
Heres the Deal...
Look at the post above I mention a place to buy one at $28,600. This is well below Msrp. Sell the RSX and pay it off (#1 KEY!!!). Since the price is well below MSRP after taxes it should be 30,400. Still Below MSRP. With that being the case you should be able to get it will 0 down if your credit is good. As the Loan value is lower than the purchase value. Normally you would need to put at least the Tax tag and Title Down. Problem Solved. Advice, if you are going to be in college, best get a nice alarm if you are not parking it safely. If a stereo is needed, and you have $500.00 and install savy, I can point you towards a decent setup.
Expect to pay 460.00 month min if you can get a %3.99 interest rate. If not spend the next year at one job. Pay your debts, and dispute anything negative on all three major reports.
Hope I helped.

with nothing down.... its gonna be over 500 per month for 60mos loan.
actually just to get an idea... if you financed the 30,400 for 60mos at 3.9%. Well your looking at 558.49 monthly payments.
make sure you got something to put down before you buy. it will only save you money in the long run.
