New Here, Thinking of legacy
Just like the title says, Im new here.
Right now i currently have a 03 Grand Am. Im thinking about next summer/fall purchasing a 05 Leagcy LTD 2.5 model. I was just wondering what people think of there Subaru's and how they like there legacy. I want to find out as much as i can before i purchase one. This car will have to last me a good 7-8yrs and this is the first import that i will be Purchasing. I have heard alot of good things and bad things about owning one of this car's. Also i would like to know what i can exspect with insurance rate's as i will only be 21. I had heard that the car is not listed as i "sports car" but im not 100% sure.

Will you be getting the Legacy 2.5 LTD or the Legacy 2.5 GT LTD?
The GT has the turbocharged 4 cylinder making 250hp.
I think Subarus are great cars. My WRX just rolled 30,000 miles and it's holding up great. Not a single flaw with the interior, paint is holding up well (as far as color goes, it chips pretty easliy). Car drives great and doesn't have any mechanical issues. It's never left me stranded. I'll most likely buy another, I just hope Subaru fixes their customer service issues at the dealerships first.
As far as insurance goes, you'll probably pay a fair amount depending on the model you get. Unfortunately, most insurance companies are getting wise to the fact that even though these cars are sedans and wagons, they still are running turbocharged motors putting out well over 200hp and 200tq. Mine isn't too bad on my WRX and I'm 23 - it's about $2,000 a year, but I also carry high limits.
If I could make a recommendation, look in to buying a house instead of a new car. It's a lot easier than you may think and you don't need to make a whole lot of money to get a place (depending on where you live). And if you're cool with having roomates, then you can rent out rooms in your house and get a lot of your mortgage paid for
. Buying a house now (I bought mine at 21) will put you in a much better position financially than buying a new car, and you can still probably get the new car a year or so after you get the house. I bought my house in May, moved in at the end of August (when the builder finished with it) and bought my WRX the following February.
Either way, good luck. Subarus rock and the people who drive them kick ***. Be sure to check out the regional forum for your area and you'll likely make some new friends.

Dont even know how to get started with that hole thing. ITs crossed my mine a few times but i dont know where to start. Plus i only make about 1200 a month not including car payment and all that ****. There's no way i can afford a house easily atleast around here average house/Townhome are going for 210-250,000. For a 3 Bed Room.
