My roommate has a 2001 Forester S with the flat 6 in it.

he just got a letter from Subaru saying in summary this..

they are recommending a special conditioner be added to the engine cooling system for cars 1999-2002 with the 2.5L engines. This is done to prevent a possible external coolant leak at your vehicles cylinder head gaskets.

It is a no-cost thing and only takes about 15 minutes, so i guess there is no harm to do this right?

the main question is this special conditioner all its craked up to be and is it COMPLETELY necessary?
