I got (the factory service manuals for my car) woohoooo!!!
Well I paid to sign up for this subaru site so I could get info on how to change my brakes. Well I saw they had the full service manual and technicians reference book for download. Only thing is that the darn thing had to be downloaded file by file and only twenty files an hour. ..... Well I did it. I got the whole damn thing hahaha. Retail price for these files they sell on the site is about $800 but I got them all for $20 hahahaha. I am happy now. Oh yeah by the way it took me three days to download all the files. Was it worth it?? YES!!

$800?!!!! one could just order the actaul hardbound manuals from Subaru for ~$350. That's what I did, but congrats on getting the manuals for $20.

Yeah, I did the 20 file/hour, 72 hour download thing for 20 bucks too. Although I knew you could get bootleg CD's off e-bay for a few bucks, it was nice to be able to obtain it legally. Did you manage to get some of the other material like the technician training handbooks?
It was a slog getting through it in 72 hours, but worth it. Its also nice having the .PDF files so if I smudge up pages with grease I can just print new ones!
Take care,
Allan

You inspired me: I'm gonna get the manuals for BOTH of my Subarus this weekend. (I've got broadband, so it'll mean less time at the keyboard at least.)
There's an on-line (bootleg) version of the 04 STi manual, but it has a number of corrupted files -- Acrobat won't read 'em and can't fix 'em (and they always seem to be the ones I want to see!). One thing to do, therefore, is to check each PDF while you've still got your subscription. HPH

I recently purchased a 1997 STI front clip, and was curious if anyone knows where I could get the manual for this car? Was this car sold in Aus. or New Zealand in the late 90's? If so, I would assume a manual would be available that way. (I would prefer an actual book---easier than checking adobe files on a computer w/ dirty hands)
