having trouble deciding
Hi folks,
Having a tough time deciding on things and though maybe some input would help.
currently, I own a 97 cherokee. It's been mostly reliable, but in the last two weeks, the steering dampner is shot, the emergency brake lever no longer works properly (well, it is the actual brake lever itself that isn't holding, the brake works), and it needs new rotors and brakes (350 bucks at a shop). I own the jeep outright...and it has a nice setup for whitewater kayaking, which I do fairly frequently.
The question is whether to sell the jeep and buy a new wrx wagon...my fear is the wagon won't be versatile enough, though I know it is versatile. I also am not looking forward to paying 350 a month in car payments for this option.
Another option is to buy a used sedan (that I test drove locally). it has 45k on it, some TXS mods, and seemed to be in very good shape. The guy wants ~16k. I might be able to keep the jeep and get the sedan.
Used wagons don't seem to be cheap enough...subaru has pretty aggressive financing right now, so I haven't found used wagon alternatives.
Any thoughts on what I should do?
thanks!
dan

I recently sold my Nissan Pathfinder for a WRX wagon & I'm satisfied. I had the pathfinder for many reasons, that being 4wd & lots of room for snowboarding (I went boarding everyday when I used to live in Vancouver, BC). Having an SUV wasn't practical for me anymore since I now live in San Diego, but I still needed the room & the AWD. So far, it's GREAT. The wagon fits everything and I can still put my boards on top. So with that being said, YES you should invest in a WRX wagon =)
