Question Gauges and Warranty

As soon as i can sell(or if the dealer gives me a good deal on the trade-in of my current car)my current car...ill be getting an STi

one of the first things i want to do besides plopping in my system and tinting the windows is to put some gauges to keep an eye on things
i was thinking along the lines of a boost gauge(durr!) and maybe an EGT and something else(i would do oil pressure but ive had a bad experience with the installer and installation of my oil pressure gauge on my current car so i want to stay away from that )
also where would be a good place to mount these???

but my main question is....
if i installed gauges...would it void my warranty???
i tried searching...but really didnt come up with what i was looking for

TIA

Ok, here is the deal. If you install electronic gauges into your car, and you splice into any existing wires it could pose a problem if you have an electrical issue with your car. If you install an EGT and weld a temp sensor into your exhaust, they wont like that. If you install an oil temp or water temp and have to install a temp sensor they wont like that. They dont want you to touch the car at all.

Basically, it all comes down to the dealer. I have heard of dealers telling someone that if they paint the side skirts on their wrx, it will void the rust/perforation warranty. I have heard that SOA sent a bulletin to their service depts saying that a K&N air filter voids the powertrain warranty. Hell, I wouldnt be surprised if they gave you a problem with putting in a stereo.

Check with the dealer you are using before you do the work, and if they have a problem, just use another dealer, thats all.
