Aight guyz...this is my first post on the boards, so bear w/ me as i tell my sad, sad story. well i just bought a brand new 2004 wrx, and it has only 900 miles on the odometer. i've been followin the owners manual about breakin in the car. it says that there should be no engine speed over 4k rpm, for the first 1k miles. now i've only had the car 11 days now, and have been following the maual to the "t".
now earlier today i was driving home from work and everything was perfectly fine. later in the evening i jumped in my new baby and left for the supermarket, when i noticed that my CEL was on . ive followed the break-in procedures in the owners manual to the "t". there are no signs of misfire or anything, the car still runs like a champ. is this normal(?) or did i get the "1" wrx that just sucks? any info is much appreciated.

Go to the dealer (or someone with an OBDII scanner, I'm sure IS2Scooby can help with finding one) and get the code pulled. There are a lot of things that can trigger a standing CEL- some as simple as not tightening the gas cap.

i've checked the gas cap cover, and its tight. so from what ive read on the forums so far is that w/ the 2004's it might be the rear o2 sensor. but i'll take it to the dealer on monday, since it s the weekend and here they aren't open.......grrrrrrrrrr
ps.......Ban Suvs .........love the plates homie
