CarTalk, Subbies, and Clutches
Hey all,
A few weeks ago the Boys had a caller who was having problems with her clutch synch'ing up for the first half hour or so when she drove it. They said it was a common fault with all Subbies and Subaru knew about it, but they did not advertise the problem and just waited for people to come in, hoping they would not know better. They said she should go to the local dealer, tell them about her problem and she'd probably get a blow-off but if she'd persist (ask for the District Manager or something) they'd replace her clutch for free.
I've got the non-WRX '02 Scooby (purchased in May '01), I thought it was me having bad feet even thoguh I've driven clutches since I was 16. I'm.... ummm.... I've been driving clutches for a long time...... :-)
TIA for your time,
Froggie Scooby

Uh oh... Por favor, what did you do? Is it something they are keeping quiet and will fix if I go in and talk to them about like CarTalk says?
Thanks
they're really not that shady, it might just be the dealership you're going to. you might end up paying out of pocket if it's not under warranty, just go in and tell them that you understand this is a common issue on MY02 imprezas.

Thanks for the info gang. I bought the extended super duper warranty so I should be Ok. I'll take it in next week and will let you know.
