Subaru's trained technicians are not as stupid as you think. You can try, but if your engine is blown up, it's not too difficult to figure out why or find the evidence. It's pretty funny when people claim they never abused their transmissions when their clutch is covered in burn marks, though.

Given that the stock engine is damn near bullet proof they would more than likely want an explanation of what you did to it.
The ECU on these cars is a sophisticated piece of electronics that is constantly monitoring a variety of engine parameters such as Timing, Fuel, Boost etc. and will modify these in order to protect your engine from damage. If you want more performance then look to a recognized tuner like Cobb or Vishu, these companies develop packages that attempt to maintain reliability.

LOL...
I lot of you guys think dealer personnel, is just there to believe all these excuses, and repair cars just for the hell of it.
I am a service advisor at a local dealer, and the first thing I always do to a car that comes in for engine/transmission concerns, is mods.....and the first one is lifting the carpet on the front passenger floor board and checking the ecm. And the digital camera right next to me, to email SOA...
What a blast I have!

Reflashed, the ECM can be checked with the scanner and look for certain parameters, and also any wiring (suck as boost controller) tapped in to the harness/ecm connectors is or so ground for warranty denial.

I have never seen a reflash that can be detected with a scan tool. Which scan equipment are you using ?
have you ever installed a boost controler ? I dont think I have ever tapped into the ECU to install one before, but I could be wrong. Which boost controlers have you seen that were tapped into the ECU ?

those subaru ecus are sophisticated i can say, i asked the guy to check why i ahd the CEL on, was it that i didnt have a cat or maybe something else? i was worried cuz i had it running like that for a long time, and then the guy scanned it and he could see when i took of the cat and also when i put in gas while the car was running(i had a dead battery and it wouldnt start again i had to keep it on)
