better deal towards the end of the year?
whats up guys. this thread is geared towards those of you who have bought a new scoob towards the end of the year (oct/nov).
I was just wondering if i should be expecting a good deal on an 07 wrx/sti since the new 2008 models will be coming in august. Or is it a matter of how one negotiates? any input would be appreciated. thanks

Maybe. When i bought my 07 there were still a few 06s around, but they werent priced any lower. It might be different for you though, since the 08 will look different.

i bought my 06 wrx last summer, and they gave me a great price on it because they said it was the end of the model year... maybe it just depends on the dealer and where you live.

When I was researching all this stuff, I ran into a site called carbuyingtips.com. On there, it has some statisitcs stating that the end of the month is usually a good time as sometimes dealers have to meet quotas set by the manufacturer. Regarding time of year, for some reason February is the best month and December is the worst. All of that buying a car for my sweetheart or tax write-off stuff, I suppose.
But yeah, the best deals can be found when dealers are trying to get rid of previous year's stock when the current year has already come out. This is when most manufacturer's incentives kick in as well, or they get a lot better. However, depending on where you live, wrx's usually go pretty fast and you might run out of selection of the previous year by that time.
I bought mine in Feb '04 and got what I thought was a great deal. Good luck.
